Hong Kong employees less engaged than their regional peers
With vast international connections and favourable economic conditions, Hong Kong has been a one of Asia’s leading talent and business hubs for more than 100 years. However, even as Hong Kong continues its initiatives to keep pace with other leading economies, reports indicate that it still struggles to harness talent effectively from its workforce.
Based on responses of employees from over 40 companies, we find:
- First, employees are notably less enthusiastic about their employers relative to regional and global peers.
- Second, many people feel companies lack diversity and clarity around strategy.
- Last, in spite of the above concerns, many employees in Hong Kong say they feel that their companies have provided them opportunities to meet their learning and growth needs.
